Crawling and Standing

So Amanda is full on crawling now, and she's starting to pull herself up to standing. It's hard to keep up with her sometimes, as she's always moving! But it also comes in handy when I leave the room, now she follows me rather than just crying! Anyway, here are some pics. First is when she pulled herself up to standing using my hips (I was laying on my side on the ground):

And here's a pic of her crawling:

And here's a pic of her just being cuuuuuuute!

Haunted House pics

Here's the pictures of our haunted house. First is the porch. That's "Ben B. Headed" on the bench with his head sitting next to him. I also had blacklights all around so the webs glowed.

Here's the front lawn graveyard. The names on the tombstones all describe how they died: "Anne T. Social", "Barry D. Alyve", "Ilene Dover", "Rigger Mortis", and "Barb E. Cue"

Halloween!

Yay Halloween! One of my favorite holidays. This year Mike made me some tombstones out of wood so I could have a "real" looking graveyard in our front lawn :) I'll take some pics on Wednesday after it's all set up. To hold you over though, here are some pics of Amanda in her bee costume last night. I had to make sure it would still fit!

The Hills are on Fire!

So as most of you have heard (or experienced), Southern CA had a bunch of wildfires this week. Ok, not a "bunch", but a TON. I think at one point they said 19 fires were burning out of control! While we weren't too affected by it (we live in the heart of the city), the amount of smoke pouring into our air and being blown our way was pretty bad. I took the following pictures on my way home from work on Wednesday.
This is looking down Motor Ave. at the Sony Pictures tower. You can see how discolored the sky was

And here's a picture of the sun that same night. All day it looked like this, sort of red and muted.

REAL pic of teeth!

Here ya go, I finally got a real picture of Amanda's teeth!

So I'm home from work today because the new daycare called and said she was vomiting and I needed to pick her up :(  We are going to see the doctor at 3:15.  I think it's the Albutrin he told me to give her to stop her wheezing, I don't think it's agreeing with her, and she's had diarrhea and vomiting the last couple of days.  Hopefully she'll get better soon.

Ladies & Gentlemen...

Amanda has her first tooth!!! Yay!

This weekend she made a sudden spurt in progress. She broke her first tooth on Friday, then she showed us she could sit up on her own. Then she started putting food in her mouth on her own. I gave her some Gerber finger foods, and she went to town!

So of course, here are some pictures
First is my attempt to get a picture of her tooth, but it didn't seem to work very well:

Here's a cute pic of her eating a biter biscuit:

And here are a couple where she figured out how to get a Twizzler out of the bag and the fun she had with it!

So this is her last week at the current daycare center. Mike & I decided we're fed up with the director and the shoddy way she runs the place. So next week she starts a new, much more organized place that I hope we'll all be happier at!

New Nac pics

More pictures from Nacimiento are trickling in from friends... Here's Mike wakeboarding:

And here's Mike wakeboarding in the background with his friend Nate driving the boat in the foreground.

And a cute pic of Amanda when she was staying at the cabing with Holly, Matt & Nate while I went out wakeboarding. They were trying to take pics of her eating, and she kept looking at the camera, instead of focusing on eating!!

Amanda's newest "thing"

I took this video of her a couple of days ago. She can be so weird sometimes *lol*

Nacimiento 2007

Last week Wednesday through Sunday we stayed in a cabin at Lake Nacimiento in Central California.

This used to be a yearly trip until 2005 when we chose to go to Lake Powell instead, and last year (2006) I was pregnant and didn't want to deal with it! Usually we tent camp, but this year I insisted on a cabin for Amanda's sake.

The first morning she was up at 6:30am on the button! So we went for a walk while everyone else slept. It was *cold*, so we bundled up:

These were the only other things out that morning:

The rest of the week, she slept in until about 7:30 so we didn't have to go on a walk! I forgot to take pictures of her in her life jacket on the boat for the first time Thursday, but she did very well. I reapplied sunscreen every 15 minutes, and I *think* we avoided any sunburns. Even so, just to make sure, she didn't go out on the boat again. Instead she hung out at the cabin:

When I went out on the boat Saturday our friends took a bunch of pictures while taking care of her, that they promised to send, so I will post those as soon as I can.

One bad thing, Amanda got sick Friday, and Friday night was NOT good. We didn't get any sleep, and Amanda was so stuffed up she could barely breathe. Until I figured out to lay her in her carseat which kept her upright enough so the congestion would drain out.

Even so, she's still sick a week later. I had to pick her up early from daycare 3 times this week - twice for a 100 degree fever, and once because she was uncontrollably coughing and crying. There's something going around though because 3 other ladies at work had the same problems with their infants. I took her to the doctor on Tuesday, but he said there's not much I can do, just give her decongestant and tylenol for the fever. I hope she gets better soon because it's breaking my heart that she's in pain and there's nothing I can do about it!

A Labor Day Baptism

This past Sunday September 2nd we had Amanda baptised finally. She did very very well with the pastor. She went right to him, and even seemed very interested when he was talking. Not even a peep when the water was poured on her! I was so proud! She made up for it afterwards though, I dropped her off at the Church childcare, and within 30 minutes I was paged because she was crying and they couldn't get her to stop :P

Anyway, I don't have any pictures from the ceremony yet, but here are a few pics I took of her in her dress at home:
