More pics!!

Some more recent pics:

This was one night in early June, I needed to clip my coupons and Amanda didn't want to play on her own, so I brought her into my lap and she "helped" me by eating some of the ads :)

This was right after we set up her high chair. Ok, she's a little too small for it still!

My dad hasn't shown much interest in holding his grandkids until last weekend when he offered to hold Amanda so I could eat my dinner. I had to take a pic!

(The following might be TMI for the guys...)
We are now on week 2 of transitioning Amanda to formula. So far, so good. She gets 2 bottles a day of formula, and the rest are still breastmilk. I think I'm suffering more than her. My body hasn't adjusted yet, and I am still in a bit of pain with the longer times between pumps. Hopefully that will go away soon.
Other than that, it's business as usual around here! We think she might be starting to teethe. She drools a LOT, sticks her fingers in her mouth all the time, gets pretty fussy for no reason, and has started waking up more during the night (though she goes right back to sleep). No bumps in her gums yet, but I believe that's right before they break through. So we'll see...!

Amanda's first months

Okie Dokie, so I got 3 months of maternity leave from work after the birth, and Mike got 2 weeks. I was breastfeeding though, so it's not like Mike could do much to help out *lol* . He did hold her while I went to take showers in the evenings, and one night I came back to this:

Wasn't he Mr. Popular that night!
One of Amanda's first smiles:

After she was 6 weeks old, we did a 'professional' photo shoot together:

And before I knew it, it was time to return to work! I returned April 2, 2007 and Amanda started at a daycare center near our house.

By that time she was almost 3 months old and making all kinds of funny faces!

And before I knew it, it was my first Mother's Day! We spent the day on the beach in Carlsbad where Mike went surfing, and Amanda and I hung out in the sand. Here's the three of us with the ocean in the background:

Amanda was really getting cool by then :)

And Memorial Day weekend Amanda had her first taste of the mountains as we met my family at Mt. Pinos for the day. Here's her Aunt Ilene offering her first taste of beer:

I have some more pictures from June, but haven't gotten around to uploading them yet, so you'll have to wait with bated breath for the next installment!

Backgound

So a little background of us first...
Mike & I (this is Tricia speaking) met over the internet in late 2000. After 2 1/2 years of dating, Mike proposed on the beach in Santa Monica on February 15, 2003.
The date was set, and almost a year later we were married on January 31, 2004.

For the next year and a half we lived in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment in West LA, saving up money for a house. For Christmas 2004, Mike got me our first baby: our cat Sophie. She is so named because the first night we had her she climbed up INSIDE our sofa and we couldn't find her for a good 3 hours.

Finally in July 2005, we bought our house in Westchester:

In January 2006 my sister announced she was pregnant and July 14, 2006 my nephew Andrew Ryan was born:

But, maybe I should back up a little... for in May 2006 I found out I was pregnant with our first baby! I was due January 17, 2007. During the pregnancy I would have said it was it was horrible, but looking back I was probably exaggerating. Our Christmas card photo that shows about as big as I got:

I never got very uncomfortable, and never had the usual ailments, heartburn, trouble sleeping, etc. I was induced January 16, 2007, and ended up giving birth to a beautiful baby girl at 1:21am on January 17, 2007

She was 6 lbs, 8 ozs and 20.5 inches long. We named her Amanda Rose McReynolds.

Posting for now. I'll update on Amanda's progress over the last 5 months in a bit...

First Post!

Ok, this probably won't be much, but just wanted to start this up real quick. The next post will be the loooooooong one :)

I've mostly been blogging on myspace, but since we have some friends here, thought I'd start a blog here as well. I'll probably just copy posts over to here, but at least it's something :)
